Two great bands perform on one stage, both featuring local vocal phenom, Mike Payette. With a career spanning decades, Mike is a well-known and respected member of the Greater Boston music community. In addition to his years of live performance as a singer and bass player, Michael has sung on numerous radio and television ads in the Boston market. (Perhaps you can hum the “1-800-54-GIANT” or the “We’re the One for You New England, New England Telephone” jingles. If so, you learned them from Mike!)
“Acoustic Roadshow” plays acoustic versions of the harmony-rich songs many of us grew up with (The Beatles, CSNY, Steely Dan, The Beach Boys). “The Mike Payette Band” plays classic rock, funk, old-school pop, R&B (The Police, Toto, Journey, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bill Withers) — definitely dance-worthy.
Mike was a founding member of several sought-after function bands including “Moonglow,” a band he led for more than a decade.
In 2014, Mike was asked to premiere two as-then unknown songs written by Brad Delp — the former lead singer of the band “Boston” — at the Brad Delp Foundation Gala, “With a Little Help from His Friends.”
Joining him tonight are Chris Leadbetter (guitar, vocals), Daniel Webster (keyboards, vocals), Seth Botos (drums, vocals), and Brian Butler (percussion, vocals).
