Winter/Spring 2018 Comedy Series
•  Friday, January 19
•  Friday, February 23
•  Friday, March 23
•  Friday, April 20

Boston Comedy Night returns to West Acton Villageworks with a four-event Winter/Spring 2018 series. The curator and host of our series is WES HAZARD — named one of “5 Boston Comedians to Watch” by Boston Globe Magazine and 2017 winner of a New England Emmy Award. Each night, he brings some of the best and brightest comics working the New England circuit. The resumés of the comics we’ve presented to date are impressive. They have appeared on Comedy Central, The TV Guide Channel, Comedy Bang! Bang! Live! Podcast, NPR’s Commonwealth Journal, Lifetime’s Girls Night Out, and several local television stations. They have performed in countless comedy festivals, both regional and further afield, have hosted many regional events, and have appeared in a number of feature films. We are so pleased to be bringing Wes and his gang back to the 'burbs for another season.

TONIGHT'S COMICS

Wes Hazard (our host)
A New England native, Wes Hazard was named as one of “5 Boston Comedians to Watch” by The Boston Globe Magazine. A writer and storyteller as well as comedian, Wes brings wit, energy, and honesty to the stage, qualities that have made him a regular performer in Boston venues as well as at The Boston Comedy Festival and The Women in Comedy Festival. Wes is a multiple-time winner on The Moth StorySLAM stage and he’s appeared as a guest on the “Comedy Bang! Bang! Live!” podcast — based on the critically acclaimed IFC television show with Scott Aukerman & Paul F. Tompkins. His debut book Questions For Terrible People was released in 2016 and named a Barnes & Noble humor pick. He also co-hosts WGBH/World Channel’s new TV series, “Stories from the Stage.”

Srilatha Rajamani
Srilatha, tech nerd, born and raised in India is a Cambridge-based stand-up comedian and storyteller. She shines a spotlight on cultural absurdities from the unique perspective of an Indian born woman living in today's America. She has opened for several national headliners like W Kamau Bell, Myk Kaplan, Ahmed Bharoocha, and Judah Friendlander . Last November, she was Comic In Residence at The Comedy Studio in Boston. She is the co-producer and co-host of Laughing Liberally Boston, Boston's first and only progressive political comedy show. (Her family in India is not aware of these shenanigans.)

Chris Pennie
As a life-long bachelor and full-time single dad, Chris relies on his dysfunctional family and off-beat view of the world to find humor in everyday life. Chris was a finalist in the Plymouth Rock Comedy Festival and Dick Doherty's Beantown Comedy Riots. He has performed at Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta and The Boston Comedy Festival. Chris was a finalist in CMTs Next Big Comic competition and was also seen on CMT. In 2013, Chris won the Foxwoods Casino “Last Comix Standing” comedy contest. Chris can be found on ulive.com, where his material was made into an animated short, and at chrispennie.com.

Corey Rodrigues
Corey was the winner of The Catch a New Rising Star, The Funniest Comic in New England, and the 2017 Big Sky Comedy Festivals. He has been featured on the hilarious Gotham Live and Laughs on Fox television shows and currently can be heard on Sirius XM. In the early years of his career, he honed and developed his skills on the stage of Boston’s Improv Asylum, after which he became a part of his own short-form improv troupe, “Flaming Awesome.” Referred to as funny, endearing, edgy, quick and exceptionally likeable when he is on the stage, Corey owns the crowd.
