Cambridge-based Curio Spice Co. is popping up at Orange Door Kitchen for a wintertime edition of The Curious Cocktail Mixology Class. As the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, we’re teaming up again with the oh-so-talented spicemaster, Claire Cheney, to show you ways to create cocktails that are merry, bright, delicious, and unique.
Spices have been used throughout history to add depth and interest to alcohol, but recently bartenders have started using spices to create "craft cocktails" — libations that delight the senses with hand-made syrups, bitters, and infusions. You can sample such cocktails at a bar, but why not hone your entertaining skills and learn to make them yourself? Join us for a demonstration of three different spice-infused holiday classics (one shaken, one stirred, and one punch) and a deep-dive into how to make bitters at home. Learn how to build layers of flavor and go home with your very own giftable signature bitters blend!
As always, the cocktails will be served with thoughtfully paired snacks to soak up some of that booze.
Tickets are $90 and include heavy appetizers, two cocktails, and a take-home batch of bitters.
