The Acton-Boxborough Farmers Market hosts its annual indoor Holiday Markets on Nov. 19 and Dec. 17, 10am–1pm in The Gallery at Villageworks in West Acton, 525 Massachusetts Avenue.
On offer from 17 different vendors will be: vegetables and fruits, eggs, baked treats, bagels, meats, maple syrup and products, chowders, pastas, honey and bee products, artisanal hard ciders, jams, salsas, pickles, relishes, dips, spreads, condiments, hot sauces, Egyptian and Lebanese fare, pet treats, goat milk soaps and products, and alpaca fibers and crafted goods. Also available will be ABFM’s signature kitchen/task aprons and T-shirts.
The ABFM is a producer-only market: vendors may sell only the produce and/or value-added products that they themselves grow or make. A minority of farmers markets operates on this model, which offers market-goers a wonderful chance to get to know the farmers and vendors that grow and produce the food they take home, to learn about producer practices, varieties, etc., and to understand, first-hand, producers’ integrity and innovation.
The ABFM happily accepts SNAP/EBT benefits for use at market, and provides a partial “match” to SNAP users (while project funds last). Visit the ABFM SNAP page or the ABFM stall at market for details.
The ABFM has been promoting good food, supporting sustainable agriculture, and building community since 2009. ABFM: Real Food from Real People! For more, visit: www.ABFarmersMarket.org.
